I. Purpose This instrument is designed and manufactured in accordance with the technical requirements for penetration and its accessory properties specified in the national standard GB/T4985 "Petroleum Wax Penetration Test Method". 1. Under the condition of a standard needle with a load of 100 grams at 25°C, the depth of vertical penetration into the paraffin sample within 5 seconds without significant friction is referred to as the paraffin penetration, used to determine the hardness of paraffin. 2. The test temperature for paraffin penetration is generally 25°C. 3. Paraffin penetration is measured in units of 0.1 mm and can be directly read on the display.
